The DEJOY/WOS Family Foundation is proud to support the Matt Brown Learn-to-Swim Endowment at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The goal of the program is to teach every second-grade child attending North Carolina’s Guilford County public schools to swim.
In the United States, only four out of ten children know how to swim and drowning is the fifth leading cause of unintentional injury death. The privately-funded endowment enables the Greensboro Aquatic Center to contract with certified life-saving skills instructors, recruit guest appearances by well-known Olympic swimmers advocating Learn-to-Swim programs and provide transportation for students between schools and the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
